Summer Reading Program Kickoff

May 26, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Get ready, get set, read! In celebration of Honoka'a Western Week and the start of the Summer Reading Program, join Honoka'a Public Library for a kickoff celebration.

Starting at 2 PM, children are invited to follow a trail of clues inside the library (suggested age 4-10). Solve all of the clues to win a prize!

At 4 PM, explore Honoka'a's history with Ross Stephenson, Laura Ruby, and Dr. Bill Bergin as they share short presentations on their books, followed by community sharing ‘talk story'. See our history in the ‘Ranches and Cowboys of Hāmākua' display.

Refereshments will be served on the lānai while supplies last. Made possible by Friends of the Library of Hāmākua, the Honoka'a Business Association, and the Heritage Center of the North Hawai'i Education and Research Center.

Program schedule is subject to change. For more information or to arrange special accommodations (ex: a sign language interpreter), please call the hosting library as soon as possible: 775-8881.
