Laysan Albatross : Style & Story

December 6, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

The North Shore of Kaua'i is the only place in the world where albatross have chosen to nest among humans. Although their number represents a miniscule percentage of the entire population, every chick matters. As the Midway Atoll gradually submerges, Kaua'i is their Noah’s Ark.

Hob Osterlund, founder of the Kaua'i Albatross Network and author of Holi Moli: Albatross and Other Ancestors, will share videos and slides of Kaua'i’s albatross and speak about the future of albatross on the Garden Isle.

This free event is sponsored by the Friends of the North Shore Library at Princeville as part of the Dotty Nakea Memorial Speaker Program and by the Princeville Public Library. Contact the hosting library 15 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if any special accommodations are needed.
