Hawaiian Digital Resources Series #2 – Office of Hawaiian Affairs: Kipuka and Papakilo

March 3, 2015 @ 6:00 pm

Kahuku Public and School Library is offering a Hawaiian Digital Resource Series where guest speakers come to our library to share their free online databases and repositories. The second program in the series will feature KIPUKA and PAPAKILO, two databases with land mapping data cross-referenced with historical and cultural information.

Guest presenters Kamoa Quitevis and Kale Hannahs from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs will demonstrate how to access these resources and share more about the importance of the community's input with the introduction of the “newly available participatory functionality which allows any user the opportunity to comment and update existing data as well as create entirely new data.”

The first program in the series featured ‘Ulu ‘Ulu – Moving Image Archive while the final program will highlight Ulukau (Electronic Library) and Wehewehe (Hawaiian Dictionary) later in the month.
