DIY Shirt Book Bag

October 7, 2017 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Teens, ages 12 and up, don’t get caught without a book bag for Teen Read Week! Simply bring in an old T-shirt, like the one pictured, and we’ll show you how to transform it into a fashionable book bag! No
sewing required! Tips: Thick cotton material works best and the bigger the T-shirt, the roomier the bag!
Also, avoid designs near the neckline and the bottom, since these areas will be cut up. This easy one hour craft will be held at the Hawaii State Library’s First Floor Reading Room from 12:00 noon to
1:00pm. As a bonus, art supplies will also be provided so participants can decorate their book bag!

Program subject to change. Should a sign language interpreter or other special accommodations be needed, please notify the library at least 10 days in advance. For more information, call the Young Adult Reference Desk at 586-3490.
