The Struggle for Women’s Equal Rights: The Pioneers (1759-1906) in Judy Chicago’s The Dinner Party

In celebration of Women’s History Month, learn about three major 18th and 19th century thinkers and activists who influenced the ideas behind American women's struggle for the vote, property rights, and general equal rights. Using Judy Chicago's monumental work of art The Dinner Party as a back drop, retired lecturer, Carol Hogard, will examine the life and works of Mary Wollstonecraft, Susan B. Anthony, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton.

The lecture will conclude with recommendations for further reading and a question and answer session. Carol Hogard is a retired from the Minneapolis Community and Technical College. She was part of the team that created the first women's studies curriculum in a community college in the upper Midwest.
