Being Local in Hawaii: Living to Be 128 Years Old

Come talk story with Julia Keiko Higa Matsui Estrella, author of “Being Local in Hawaii: ‘Talking Story' with Julia of Claremont: Inspirational Stories from the Heart of Aloha”!

Being Local in Hawaii relates the author's life experiences and views on various areas that have affected her life, such as racism, ethnic identity, human longevity, her first-hand experiences engaging in civil obedience, and others.

Copies of the book will be available for purchase with the assistance of Friends of Kaimuki Public Library (FKPL). Cash only. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to FKPL.
