Although she put out a few releases\, Kimié’s new album is a re-introduction to her and her music and is aptly titled Kimié Miner. The theme for the album is land\, which Kimié states\, “It’s about our connection to the land and the seasons we experience both in our surroundings and within ourselves.” The album\, recorded in Los Angeles\, Indianapolis\, and Hawaiʻi\, was written and produced closely with Billy Van. Other great collaborators include Caleb Keolanui (The Green) on “Love’s In The Melody\,” and additional production from Imua Garza\, Matt Honda\, and Scott Wilks. \nThrough The Roots and Hirie will be the opening acts. \nDetails on the Show:\nWhere: The Republik\, 1349 Kapiolani Blvd 3rd Floor\, Honolulu\, HI 96814\nWhen: Friday\, October 23rd\, 2015\nLounge Doors: 6:00pm (21 and up)\nHall Doors: 7:00pm (All Ages accompanied by an Adult)\nShow: 8:00pm (All Ages accompanied by an Adult) \nTickets available at:\nBampproject.com / Jointherepublik.com / Flavorus.com / Local Motion Stores / Navy/Hickam ITT Offices / Army LTS Offices / UH Campus Center / The Safehouse (the Lounge within The Republik) Tuesday thru Saturday 6:00pm until 1:00am with a $2.00 per ticket Service Fee / The Republik Box Office Tuesday thru Friday 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. \nIf you’re not familiar with Kimie Miner please visit http://www.kimieminer.com/home/#kimie-music

SUMMARY:Make A Difference Day
DESCRIPTION:Mālama Maui Nui’s annual cleanup\, Make A Difference Day\, is set for Saturday\, October 24 as part of a national day of volunteer service organized by USA Today. This community-driven\, community-oriented day of service recognizes that every single person has the power to make a positive contribution\, and MMN strongly believes community engagement is necessary to preserve our environment and enhance the health and vitality of our community. \n“[Make A Difference Day] is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors” states the MakeADifferenceDay.com website. “The stories told around Make A Difference Day show that anyone – regardless of age\, location or resources – can accomplish amazing things when they take on the problems they see in their community.” \nIn the spirit of neighbors helping neighbors and improving our quality of life\, Mālama Maui Nui staff will be assisting fellow organization The Kaho'olawe Island Reserve Commission – KIRC in the important work they do for the sacred neighbor island. Because all staff will be participating in the KIRC Work Day on October 24\, the MMN office will be closed that Saturday. \nMālama Maui Nui likewise encourages residents to identify a need in their surrounding community and take action to address that need on October 24 or 25 in honor of Make A Difference Day. \nMore information on Make A Difference Day is available at MalamaMauiNui.org or by calling 808-877-2524.
