SUMMARY:Unknown Mortal Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:BAMP Project presents Unknown Mortal Orchestra performing live at The Republik\, Friday\, February 24th\, 2017. This is an all ages accompanied by an adult event. \nThe threads of our past never unravel\, they hover like invisible webs\, occasionally glistening due to a sly angle of the sun. On Multi-Love\, Unknown Mortal Orchestra frontman and multi-instrumentalist Ruban Nielson reflects on relationships: airy\, humid longing\, loss\, the geometry of desire that occurs when three people align. Where Nielson addressed the pain of being alone on II\, Multi-Love takes on the complications of being together. \nMulti-Love adds dimensions to the band’s already kaleidoscopic approach\, with Nielson exploring a newfound appreciation for synthesizers. The new songs channel with the spirit of psych innovators without ignoring the last 40 years of music\, forming a flowing\, cohesive whole that reflects restless creativity. Cosmic escapes and disco rhythms speak to developing new vocabulary\, while Nielson’s vocals reach powerful new heights. “It felt good to be rebelling against the typical view of what an artists is today\, a curator\,” he says. “It’s more about being someone who makes things happen in concrete ways. Building old synthesizers and bringing them back to life\, creating sounds that aren’t quite like anyone else’s. I think that’s much more subversive.” \nA local opening act will be announced soon. \nDetails on the Show:\nWhere: The Republik\, 1349 Kapiolani Blvd. #30\, Honolulu\, HI 96814\nWhen: Friday\, February 24th\, 2017\nLounge Doors: 6:00pm (21 and over)\nHall Doors: 7:00pm (All ages accompanied by an adult)\nShow: 8:00pm (All ages accompanied by an adult)\nPrices: $27.50 General Admission\, plus applicable fees\, increase on the day of the show plus applicable fees

SUMMARY:Bamp Project Presents: Phantogram
DESCRIPTION:Bamp Project Presents: Phantogram live at The Republik on February 25th\, 2017. Tickets will go on sale to the General Public December 9th at 9:00am. \nThis is an all ages accompanied by an adult event. \nPhantogram are an electronic rock duo from upstate New York whose music incorporates psychedelic pop vocals\, J Dilla-style hip-hop beats\, and shoegazing sensibility. Founded in 2007 and based in Saratoga Springs\, New York\, the duo is comprised of longtime friends Josh Carter (guitar\, vocals) and Sarah Barthel (keyboards\, vocals)\, who originally hail from the nearby small town of Greenwich\, New York. Originally known as Charlie Everywhere and associated with the local independent label Sub-Bombin Records\, the duo released the eponymous Phantogram EP in March 2009 and sparked widespread interest with two songs in particular\, “Mouthful of Diamonds” and “When I'm Small.” \nPhantogram subsequently released the Running from the Cops EP in May 2009 on the international label BBE Records. The duo finally made its full-length album debut with Eyelid Movies (2010)\, an 11-track album featuring the four previously released EP songs “Mouthful of Diamonds\,” “When I'm Small\,” “Running from the Cops\,” and “Bloody Palms.” The album was released internationally by BBE Records\, domestically by Barsuk Records\, and on vinyl by Ghostly International. The duo returned in late 2011 with the Nightlife EP\, which sold enough to hit the lower reaches of the U.S. charts. \nTickets will be available at: BampProject.com

SUMMARY:Alignment Reset: Hips and Jaw with Katy
DESCRIPTION:The pelvis is the center of your universe! For most of us we are walking around with one hip higher than the other all day\, creating chronic imbalances in our muscles and in our yoga postures. These imbalances can lead to pain\, injury and diminished awareness of our bodies. In this 3 hour workshops we will explore Triplets Theory from the work of Dr. Steve Swidler\, and identify if misalignments are caused from our hips or from our Jaw! It is hard to believe\, but for many of us\, correcting how we hold our jaw can be the missing link in our chronic back pain\, migraines\, and even knee pain! Once identified\, you will learn techniques to level the pelvis each morning\, and prior to your yoga practices. \nWorkshop will conclude with a 30 minute Yoga Nidra Practice for central nervous system integration. Yoga Nidra is a systematic relaxation that utilizes a personal intent for maximum healing at the conscious\, subconscious and unconscious level. Cost $30 All Levels Welcome. \nTherapeutic Balls (for Jaw) will be available for purchase for $5\, and download code for Yoga Nidra for Cultivating Intent by Katy Benjamin will also be available for $3. Please bring cash or check for these items.

SUMMARY:Bamp Project Presents: Allen Stone
DESCRIPTION:Bamp Project Presents Allen Stone live\nAt The Maui Arts & Community Center\nOn February 25th\, 2017 \nThis is an all ages event \nTickets go on sale Friday\, December 23rd at 10:00am \nAlong with immersing himself in a songwriting approach that involved unflinching examination of “some very dark and negative moments in my life\,” Stone shaped the sound and feel of Radius by pushing himself to “get past the boundaries of what I felt comfortable with\, so that I could progress into a whole new level of creativity.” Despite that sometimes-daunting process\, Radius wholly reveals Stone’s easy grace in blending everything from edgy soul-pop and earthy folk-rock to throwback R&B and Parliament-inspired funk. \nAt age 22\, Stone self-released his debut album\, 2010’s Last To Speak. But it was his self-titled follow-up that ended up earning him serious recognition. Along with entering the top five on iTunes’ R&B/Soul chart after its digital release\, Allen Stone prompted him to score appearances on such late-night talk shows like Conan and grace the pages of publications like the New York Times. And upon partnering with ATO Records for a physical release of his self-titled album in 2012\, Stone soon turned up on the likes of the Late Show with David Letterman and landed a gig as the opening act for soul legend Al Green. In the midst of all the buzz\, he also took up a grueling touring schedule\, tearing through nearly 600 shows in just two years. \nA local opening act will be announced soon.

SUMMARY:Bamp Project Presents The Descendents
DESCRIPTION:BAMP Project presents The Descendents performing live at The Republik\, Sunday\, February 26th\, 2017. Tickets will be available exclusively to BAMP Blast eNewsletter Subscribers Wednesday\, October 26th from 10:00am until 10:00pm online only. Tickets will be on sale to the General Public Thursday\, October 27th at 12:00pm at all the locations listed below. This is an all ages accompanied by an adult event. \nIn 1978 The Descendents formed under their common credo of fishing\, girls and velocity. Existing briefly as a power trio\, the LA-based group released the 7″ single\, ‘Ride The Wild’\, before recruiting a certain crop-haired honors class geek cum heartthrob on vocals. They released the Fat EP in 1981\, the only record in The Descendents’ expansive catalog that does not contain a single love song. The quintessential Descendents album\, ‘Milo Goes To College’\, hit local record stores in 1982. Its fusion of catchy melodies with raw\, spastic energy caused the Los Angeles Times to write\, “perfect for the little guy who was ever called a nerd and never got the girl. The Chain Saw pop combined with earthy humor conveys what is often an inarticulate rage.” \nEach new Descendents record pushed further into the outer envelope of ALLness: faster\, stronger\, better. The guitar/bass tandem of Stephen Egerton and Karl Alvarez had what music teachers and Hit Parade magazine refer to as “killer chops”; that is to say\, they wailed. In 1987\, the band released its magnum opus ‘ALL’ album\, including the “ALL-o-Gistics”\, a set of commandments useful in achieving ALL. Rigorous touring ensued once more. Two raging live albums were recorded\, Liveage and Hallraker. The Descendents became legendary on the underground all-ages circuit. \nA local opening act will be announced soon. \nDetails on the Show:\nWhen: Sunday\, February 26th\, 2017\nLounge Doors: 6:00pm (21 and over)\nHall Doors: 7:00pm (All ages accompanied by an adult)\nShow: 8:00pm (All ages accompanied by an adult) \nTickets available to the General Public Thursday\, October 27th at 12:00pm at:\nBampProject.com / Flavorus.com / Local Motion Stores / Navy / Hickam ITT Offices / Army LTS Offices / The Safehouse (the lounge within The Republik) / The Republik Box Office Tuesday through Friday 10:00am until 6:00pm
