Can you imagine what Balloon Haiku\, Storygami\, & Storytelling with Magic look like? Stories will come together in visual ways\, inviting audience interaction and lots of fun. After the stories\, children get to make a simple magic trick that they can take home to perform. This free 45-minute program is suitable for children in preschool to grade 5. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. \nSponsored by the Friends of Kaneohe Library. This is a production of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding provided by the National Endowment for the Arts\, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts\, and the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Paints and canvases will be provided. This will be as much a social event as an educational one\, and participants may bring their own beverages\, including beer or wine for those over 21. Kanoelani began at the Molokai Arts Center (MAC) as an AmeriCorps volunteer in 2014\, and has since been teaching and working at the MAC as interim Studio Manager and Volunteer Coordinator. She brings passion and fun to her favorite subject\, painting. \nThe cost for the class is $30\, or $24 for MAC Members. DESCRIPTION:Hailed as a “heroic virtuoso\,” and “a dazzling performer\,” Mark Salman's performances have been described as “powerful\,” “astonishing\, exacting and evocative\,” “dramatic\,” “wildly imaginative” and “touchingly lyrical.”  \nThe program for the evening will include Rondo Capriccioso\, Op. 14 by Mendelssohn\, Piano Sonata No. 17 in D minor “Tempest” by Beethoven\, 3 Mazurkas and Polonaise in F# minor\, Op. 44 by Chopin\, Valse Oubliee No. 1 and Ballade in B minor by Liszt. \nHe has toured Europe\, Asia\, Canada\, and throughout the United States. They also matched up with Swedish House Mafia for the Virgin-issued “Antidote\,” billed as Swedish House Mafia vs. Knife Party. Remixes of tracks by Swedish House Mafia (“Save the World”)\, Porter Robinson (“Unison”)\, and Nero (“Crush on You”) trickled out around the same time. What happens when you do not have one? Two charming characters wrestle to create their own homes until they come to realize that one of the great joys of having a home is sharing it. This special performance at the Hawaii State Library is sponsored by the Ward Village Foundation. Performance will be held in the Edna Allyn Room for Children on the first floor. \nProgram is recommended for ages 3 to 5.
