DESCRIPTION:Date: Thursday\, May 18th from 5:30pm-6:45pm\nLocation: Aloha Wellness Center 239 Haili Street\, Hilo (at Kapiolani/Haili)\nSuggested donation** $20 \nAbout the Practice…\nYoga Nidra is a systematic method of inducing complete physical\, mental and emotional relaxation. The term yoga nidra is derived from two Sanskrit words\, yoga meaning union and nidra\, translating to sleep. Yoga Nidra is accessible to anyone who can lay on the floor\, or sit in a chair if access to the floor is challenging. Please wear layers\, deeply restorative practices can often lower body temperature. Yoga Nidra and preparatory breath work will be facilitated by Katy Benjamin\, an experienced yoga teacher who focuses on injury prevention and healing\, as well as posture modification and special needs. She is currently pursuing a Certification as a Yoga Therapist with Integrative Yoga Therapy. \nSound Healing will be provided by our special guest Tom Catton\, who plays the Tibetan Bowls. Each bowl's pitch corresponds to a chakra center in the body. Tom is a gifted Mindfulness Meditation Teacher who lives here in East Hawaii. He offers Tibetan Bowl Therapy for groups\, as well as individuals in his home. It is truly a gift to be in the presence of Tom and his bowls. \nPlease Bring warm layers\, and blankets/cushion/yoga mat if you have. There will be some provided\, but not necessarily enough for everyone.

SUMMARY:Beginning Charleston
DESCRIPTION:The Charleston is a dance named for the harbor city of Charleston\, South Carolina. SUMMARY:Writers' Group
DESCRIPTION:All aspiring writers are invited to come together. Facilitator Eila Algood will moderate the meetings to give the participants a chance to practice writing\, discuss writing skills\, share their work\, enjoy useful feedback\, and share the joys and frustrations of the writing life. Algood\, a poet and writer herself\, has participated in other writing groups. She counts herself among the many writers who find value in the support of a writers’ network. \nAnyone interested in writing is invited to the monthly meetings—beginning writers to published authors\, the timid\, the brave\, serious writers or amateur scribblers\, the prolific and especially—the blocked. \nWriters are invited to bring samples of their work if they care to share\, however\, this is not necessary. All are welcome to listen\, to learn\, and to be inspired. Algood asks that everyone bring a pen and paper for writing. \nProgram schedule is subject to change. Program is intended for patrons ages 12 and older. For additional information on the writers’ group at North Kohala Public Library or to arrange special accommodation\, contact Janet Lam at 889-6655.
