SUMMARY:Electric Palms Presents: Zomboy
DESCRIPTION:Electric Palms Presents: Zomboy\nAt The Republik\nFebruary 11\, 2017 \nTickets will go on sale December 15th at 10:00am at:\nBampProject.com / JointheRepublik.com / SeeTickets.us / Local Motion Stores / Navy / Hickam ITT Offices / Army LTS Offices / UH Campus Center / The Republik Box Office Tuesday through Friday 10:00am until 6:00pm with a $2.00 service fee per ticket. \nThis is the make up date for the cancelled July 23rd\, 2016 show at The Republik. All show tickets for the original date will be honored at the door. \nZomboy is Joshua Mellody\, a sound engineer whose aggressive\, bloodthirsty tracks range from stadium ready dubstep to drum'n'bass and electrohouse. Born in a small town near Cornwall\, England called Penzance\, Mellody came to America\, where he worked in recording and engineering before returning to the U.K. After releasing some electro tracks mostly cover versions under the name Place Your Bet$\, Mellody moved back to Guildford\, U.K.\, put his love of Skrillex and Rusko into his work\, and became the dubstep artist Zomboy\, the name inspired by the video game Left for Dead. \nHe kicked life off as Zomboy in 2011 with the Game Time EP\, released by the label Never Say Die. With the EP spending eight weeks as one of Beatport's Top Five dubstep releases\, Zomboy charted next to his idols on the online music retailer's charts\, and by the end of the year\, his music and remixes were licensed to compilations on labels like Warner and Ministry of Sound. The Dead Symphonic EP followed in 2012\, and single “Kick It” appeared the same year. Single “Here to Stay” (featuring Lady Chann) was issued by Firepower Records in 2013\, and two part EP Reanimated was released by Never Say Die and sister label No Tomorrow later in the year. Never Say Die also released Zomboy's debut full length The Outbreak in 2014\, as well as its 2015 remix album Resurrected. The Neon Grave EP appeared on the label in 2016.

The Illinoisan had just moved to Austin\, and he had put up a flyer that caught the interest of the others. They ate pizza and discussed movies and arcana. They also decided to meet the next day with their various instruments (two guitars\, bass\, and drums). This happened\, and over the coming months they picked a band name\, then picked a better band name\, then wrote and recorded an album. \nThat album\, called How Strange\, Innocence\, was largely out of tune\, but the band members didn't really notice at the time. They optimistically printed 300 copies\, and gave most of them away. It turned out they really liked playing together\, so they kept doing so. A friend of theirs sent a recording of one of their live shows to a record label in Baltimore\, and that label offered to put out albums for the band. The band agreed. A year later they put out a second album (Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Die\, Those Who Tell the Truth Shall Live Forever). They began to tour often\, all over the world. In 2003 another album came (The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place)\, and in 2007 they put out All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone. Their fifth album\, Take Care\, Take Care\, Take Care\, was released in April 2011. \nA local opening act will be announced soon.
