DESCRIPTION:Join Maui Huliau Foundation and POME- Product Of My Environment Saturday September 17th to be part of International Coastal Cleanup Day with a morning beach cleanup and evening ocean-inspired film showing!   \nBeach Cleanup:\nMeet in front of Hawaiian Canoe Club in Hoaloha Park in Kahului harbor (behind Akamai Motors across from Kahului Shopping Center) at 9am.  We will provide buckets and bags and water to refill your bottles.  Please bring reusable water bottle and gloves (we have some extras).  Cleanup ends at 11:30am.  All participants will receive a ticket to that evening's film showing.  Huliau students and other youth are especially  encouraged to attend! \nOcean-inspired film showing:\nJoin us behind POME- Product Of My Environment in Pāʻia from 7:30-9:00pm for a collection of films about our connection with the ocean including various water sport films and films created by students of our Huliau Environmental Filmmaking Club program.  Bring your ticket from the beach cleanup that morning or a $5 donation for Maui Huliau programs and a beach chair.  Enter through the POME main entrance.  The event will also feature pop-up booths by local designers and kombucha by Nourish Bar and Cafe Maui. \nInternational Coastal Cleanup Day is a world wide effort organized by the Ocean Conservancy to clean our coastlines and protect our oceans from land-based pollution.  A series of beach cleanup efforts are happening on Maui on the 17th and beyond organized by Mālama Maui Nui and other groups.

Can coloring help you relax? \nFrom choosing colors to the gentle\, repetitive motion of your hands as you bring color to paper\, coloring can be seen as a form of “active meditation”. Oftentimes\, when you think of meditation\, you think of sitting still for a long period of time. With active meditation\, it is just the opposite: repetitive motions such as coloring cna help strengthen your focus and easily shift your attention back to a relaxed state. Stressful thoughts and future worries can be simply pushed aside as you take time to enjoy the present.
