DESCRIPTION:The Hawaii State Library presents a musical potpourri performed by local singers and the Kapiolani Community College Synthesizer Ensemble plus HSL's librarian/harpist\, Sally Walstrum. The singers will sing well-known classical\, Broadway and movie songs such as Ave Maria by Bach/Gounod\, What I Did for Love (from A Chorus Line) and The Sound of Music (from the movie\, The Sound of Music)\, and the synthesizer ensemble will play 5 pieces accompanied by flute\, piano and viola. There will also be solos by guitar and viola. The harpist\, Sally Walstrum\, will play a fiery piece\, Baroque Flamenco by Deborah Henson-Conant (based on a theme by Jean-Jacques Rousseau). \nThis one-hour program will be held in the Library's front lobby and is suitable for ages 5 and older. Bring it! Glass is preferred like\, reusing an Apple Cider vinegar bottle and adding a spray top!  Also bring an empty dish detergent bottle or a medium size Ball jar.  If you also have small glass spray bottles\, 1-2 oz\, bring those too! Renee will be doing giveaways during the class of sample oil and there will also be prizes and gifts! DESCRIPTION:BAMP Project presents The Expendables performing live in Honolulu at The Repulik\, Saturday\, May 16th\, 2015. Tickets go on sale March 27th at 9:00am at the locations listed below. This is an all ages accompanied by an adult event. \nWhile touring and supporting their album\, Gettin’ Filthy\, The Expendables would share the stage with Slightly Stoopid and catch the attention of founders and front men Kyle McDonald and Miles Doughty. In 2007 Slightly Stoopid formed their own independent label\, Stoopid Records\, and signed The Expendables for the label’s first non-Stoopid release\, which was The Expendables self-titled. Released in September 2007\, the album would be accepted as an instant classic by fans and received rave reviews from critics.  \nThe band continued supporting the album with hundreds of shows over the next two years\, gaining fans around the world\, and respect from the bands that influenced them. The band would share the stage with bands like Slightly Stoopid\, NoFX\, Less Than Jake\, Pennywise and Pepper to name a few. At the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010 the band would work on their next album Prove It produced by Paul Leary (producer of Sublime\, Slightly Stoopid\, Pepper\, Supersuckers\, as well as the guitar player for Butthole Surfers) and El Hefe (guitar player for NoFX). Prove It was released May 11th 2010 debuting at #158 on the Billboard Top 200\, #30 on Billboard’s Independent charts\, and #4 on Billboard’s Heatseekers! The album also pushed to #15 on iTunes Top 200 and #5 on iTunes Alternative Charts\, jumping The Expendables to a new level in their career. The band’s new release would include guest performances by C-Money\, OG\, and Dela of Slightly Stoopid throughout the album.  \nJumping into the mix as well would be long time friend G. Love on the ballad “Wells”. The Expendables have continued their tenacious touring schedule in 2011 with their popular annual Winter Blackout Tour. This summer\, the band will be featured on all dates of the massive yearly festival favorite\, Warped Tour. Who is this kid? What is he trying to tell us?
