DESCRIPTION:John is a native of the island of Hawaii. He is a self-taught slack-key guitarist and has numerous recordings to his credit. He was chosen as a Na Hoku Hanohano Award winner in 1994 for instrumental album of the year\, “Ho'onanea”.
