SUMMARY:BAMP Project presents Mastodon
DESCRIPTION:BAMP Project presents Mastodon performing live in Honolulu at The Republik Saturday\, April 4th\, 2015. Tickets are on sale NOW. This event is open to all ages accompanied by an adult. \nArt is a cyclical beast. The same can easily be said of Grammy Award nominated hard rock juggernaut Mastodon. The group’s four members recognize the importance of life’s omnipresent cycles on their sixth full-length album\, Once More ‘Round the Sun. The band orbits around themes of loss and rebirth\, twirling a sonic spiral of its signature robust riffing\, hypnotically haunting soundscapes\, triage of dynamic voices\, and thundering seismic grooves. At the same time\, this particular collection proves personal for Brann Dailor\, Brent Hinds\, Bill Kelliher\, and Troy Sanders. The very title says something slightly different for each member. \nMastodon’s own collective cycle encompasses a staggering string of accolades. Whether it’s the public endorsement of peers as diverse as Metallica\, Pearl Jam\, Queens of the Stone Age\, CeeLo Green\, and Feist or unanimous praise from the likes of Time and Rolling Stone\, the band continue to make an impression at every turn. 2011’s The Hunter saw them achieve their highest chart debut yet\, reaching #10 on the Billboard Top 200\, while the single “Curl of the Burl” notched their second Grammy Award nomination in the category of “Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance”. \nA local opening act will be announced soon. \nShow Information:\nLounge Doors Open: 6:00pm (21 and over)\nHall: 7:00pm (All ages accompanied by adult)\nShow: 8:00pm (All ages accompanied by adult)\nPrices: $29.00 in advance plus applicable fees\, increase day of the show plus applicable fees. \nTickets on Sale At:\nBampproject.com / Jointherepublik.com / Flavorus.com / Local Motion Stores / Navy/Hickam ITT Offices / Coast Guard ITT Offices / Army LTS Offices / UH Campus Center / The Safehouse (the Lounge within The Republik)Tuesday thru Saturday 6:00pm until 1:00am / The New Republik Box Office Monday thru Friday 9:00am until 6:00pm

SUMMARY:Capone's Comedy Smash 4
DESCRIPTION:A NIGHT OF LAUGHS WITH THE WOMEN OF COMEDY \nCapone’s Comedy Smash is back for its fourth run\, this time\, celebrating an impressive line-up of legendary comediennes for “A Ladies Night Out.” Comedy Smash 4 will be held on Saturday\, April 4\, 2015 at the Neal Blaisdell Concert Hall; doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the show starts at 8:00 p.m. Headlining the evening are the comedic geniuses: “Chicago’s Queen of Comedy” Adele Givens\, “The Bad Girl of Comedy” Luenell\, the “Hysterically Dark” Paula Bel\, and “Funny\, Raw and In-Your-Face” Aida Rodriguez\, hosted by Roxy OTM. \nTickets will go on sale at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday\, January 24\, 2015\, available at Neal Blaisdell Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations\, including Walmart. Purchase tickets online at ticketmaster.com or by phone 1-800-745-3000. Military and group discounts are available. \nAdele Givens\, known by her peers as the “Queen of Comedy\,” delivers an in-your-face style driven by her down-home roots. After debuting as the winner of the Crown Royal Comedy Competition in Chicago\, Givens went on to establish an impressive repertoire of guest starring roles for sitcoms such as “Martin\,” “Moesha” and “The Steve Harvey Show\,” host of a morning radio show\, casting in films including “The Player’s Club” and “Beauty Shop\,” starring in her own HBO half-hour comedy special\, comedy tours\, writing\, slam poetry\, and much more. \nBack by popular demand is Luenell\, a force of comedic nature with a signature style. Her memorable comedy has gathered an almost cult-like following due to her tour and appearances in Katt Williams’ “American Hustle\,” also appearing in box office hits such as “Think Like A Man\,” “Taken 2” and “That’s My Boy.” A regular on television comedy shows\, Luenell will surely bring her comedy chops to impress at A Ladies Night Out. \nKnown for her stylistic yet hilarious combination of black and blue comedy\, Paula Bel\, makes audiences roar even when it comes to everyday topics. Her unique deliveries landed her an appearance on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” just six years into her stand-up career–an impressive feat. Bel has numerous television appearances under her belt\, including “Friday Night\,” “Full Frontal Comedy\,” and “Whiteboyz in the Hood.” \nAnd last but surely not least\, Aida Rodriguez offers an edgy take on comedy\, also drawing inspiration from her family and the hectic life of being a comedian. Her performance skills are evidenced by her many gigs as host of television shows\, award shows and even a cooking show. Rodriguez is a regular on many comedy stages and also wrote and produced four feature films with international distribution. Her confidence and comedy will be a lethal combination on the Ladies Night Out stage!
