SUMMARY:BAMP Project presents Photay
DESCRIPTION:BAMP Project presents Photay performing live in Honolulu at The Safehouse\, Friday\, July 24th\, 2015. Tickets go on sale Friday\, June 5th at 9:00am at the locations listed below. This is an all ages accompanied by an adult event.\nPhotay is the solo musical endeavor of Evan Shornstein\, a 21-year-old hailing from the lush and peaceful evergreen valley of Woodstock\, NY. \nHaving been introduced to Aphex Twin at the tender age of 9\, he quickly began to embrace music in all of its forms. This early inspiration provided a foundation for his musical growth in drumming\, turntablism and eventually composition. Drawing on a wide range of global influences\, he dove headfirst into the world of audio experimentation\, initially through mixes recorded using his turntables\, and later on through the use of digital audio software. \nThis unique and confident young voice is in full effect on his debut self-titled release for Astro Nautico. Restlessly playful\, Photay’s unique range of compositional skills are immediately apparent\, with tempos and moods spontaneously emerging and evolving organically. Fusing catchy melodies with unusual textures\, this is invigorating music that speaks an ancient language. It is vibrant\, dynamic and beautifully unexpected. It will move you. \nAlso on the eclectic lineup will be BAMP Resident DJ Delve as well as KTUH DJ Sejika. \nDetails on the Show:\nWhere: The Republik\, 1349 Kapiolani Blvd 3rd Floor\, Honolulu\, HI 96814\nWhen: Friday\, July 24th\, 2015\nLounge Doors: 6:00pm (21 and over)\nShow: 9:00pm (All ages accompanied by an Adult)\nPrices: $15.00 Limited Early Bird tickets in advance plus applicable fees\n$20.00 General Admission in advance plus applicable fees\, increase day of the show plus applicable fees. \nTickets available at 9:00am\, Friday\, June 5th at:\nBampproject.com / Jointherepublik.com / Flavorus.com / Local Motion Stores / Navy/Hickam ITT Offices / Army LTS Offices / UH Campus Center /The Safehouse (the Lounge within The Republik) Tuesday thru Saturday 6:00pm until 1:00am with a $2.00 Service Fee per ticket / The Republik Box Office Monday thru Friday 9:00am until 6:00pm with a $2.00 Service Fee per ticket\nIf you aren’t familiar with Photay\, visit http://soundcloud.com/photay \nHigh-resolution photos and interviews upon request. \nMahalo to our sponsors ROCKSTAR Energy Drink\, Bud Light\, and Wahoos.

SUMMARY:MMN Baseyard Volunteer Workday
DESCRIPTION:Mālama Maui Nui administers several County-wide recycling programs that deal with household hazardous waste. These programs ensure that people have a safe place to properly dispose of their unwanted materials\, of which many can be repurposed into new and useful things! \nAs can be imagined\, it can take a significant amount of time — or many hands — to prepare them for the next step in their recycling journey. Thus\, we turn to our volunteers in the community to join us in this effort to keep Maui County beautiful! \nOur next Baseyard Volunteer Workday is on Saturday\, July 25 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the MMN Baseyard in Pu’unene. Volunteers will be helping out with our Household Batteries Recycling and Paint Exchange programs. \nContact us for more info on the tasks involved\, and to reserve your spot!
