SUMMARY:Movie Screening : This Changes Everything
DESCRIPTION:Filmed over 211 days in nine countries and five continents over four years\, “This Changes Everything” is an epic attempt to re-imagine the vast challenge of climate change. Inspired by Naomi Klein's international non-fiction bestseller “This Changes Everything\,” the film presents seven powerful portraits of communities on the front lines\, from Montana's Powder River Basin to the Alberta Tar Sands\, from the coast of South India to Beijing and beyond. Interwoven with these stories of struggle is Klein's narration\, connecting the carbon in the air with the economic system that put it there.\nThroughout the film\, Klein builds to her most controversial and exciting idea: that we can seize the existential crisis of climate change to transform our failed economic system into something radically better.\nNo Viewer Rating\, Parental Guidance encouraged.\nCo-sponsored by the Sierra Club

SUMMARY:40 Days to Personal Revolution
DESCRIPTION:Can 40 Days of Yoga Lead to Personal Transformation?\nAbsolutely. Yoga practice transforms our life when it becomes an integral part of it: when it is a daily practice that we are sincerely committed to for our own well being as much as for all beings. The asana is only one of the 8 limbs of yoga practice that ultimately guide us toward a more enlightened way of living. Though our practice of any limb will gradually lead to an interest and practice of another. \nTransformation?\nWell…it is generally agreed on that 21-40 days is the time needed to ingrain a new habit. It is recommended that the activity be performed at least once a day and suggested that it may help if it is at about the same time each day. People around the country are participating in a 40 day practice of asana\, meditation and nutrition combined with the study of yogic philosophy and many of them say yes\, it has truly been life changing. We would like to offer you the opportunity to cultivate positive new habits through the exploration of yoga and experience for yourself your own personal transformation! \n“A few days of yoga practice and contemplation may help for a short time\, but the benefits will not last forever. We have to engage in these practices constantly because although we may be further on today than yesterday\, tomorrow we may slip back a step tomorrow. ” -TKV Desikachar\, The Heart of Yoga \nFour days of studio Yoga practice per week:\nYou may attend any class and any time of the day you like. We ask is that your commitment to this be sincere. \nTwo days of home Yoga practice or Studio Practice per week.\nA powerful way to learn to motivate yourself on your mat. You can use the practice outlined in the book\, or a CD or DVD\, or let the creative juices flow and design your own practice. If you are not yet inspired to practice at home\, please join us at the studio for these 2 days! \nOne day per week of “active rest”.\nMake a commitment to include rest and rejuvenation in your weekly schedule – get a massage/bodywork\, sleep-in\, walk in nature\, etc. \nCleansing diet\nNot so much a diet to follow\, but using the guidelines set out in Baron Baptiste's book\, 40 Days to Personal Revolution\, you will intuitively learn to make healthy\, wholesome food choices that are nourishing and sustaining. \nThree day fruit fast\nDone in the fourth week\, this is an amazing way to give your digestive system a rest\, lighten your body and cleanse from the inside out. \nDaily meditation practices\nEach day there is a morning and evening meditation practice to complete. Again\, guidelines are in the book\, or you can use a meditation style that works for you (CD\, etc) \nDevelopment of a personal exploration diary\nWe suggest you keep your own journal during this experience\, it can be very empowering to look back over it at the end and see how you have transformed! There are questions at the end of each chapter of 40 Days that are designed to provoke introspection\, helping you to delve into your mind\, identifying old mental patterns and creating new ones. Your journaling is for you only\, and does not need to be shared. \nGroup discussion and meditation\nEach Sunday afternoon from 11:45am-12:45pm (sometimes until 1:45pm) Molly will lead a group “check-in” where we share thoughts and feelings that come up\, learn to meditate\, and most importantly meet our fellow yogis in transformation. \nThe Investment $225 includes:\n•40 Days of Unlimited Yoga (class cards will be frozen)\n•40 Days to Personal Revolution' by Baron Baptiste\n•Weekly check-ins\, group discussion and meditations that include:\n*FREE mini acupuncture\, Neuroemmotional Technique sessions with acupuncturist and Chinese Herablist Momi Aiu and other local holistic demos and\neducational sessions on massage\, essential oils and much more!\n•10% off all items in the boutique\n•Cleansing Diet and Three Day cleanse (many options available)\n•Development of personal exploration diary (journal included)\n-A supportive kula to support you on your journey!\nThe Reward: ONE WEEK OF FREE YOGA!

SUMMARY:Maui: Bamp Project Presents: Young The Giant January 14th
DESCRIPTION:BAMP Project presents Young the Giant performing live in Maui at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center\, Saturday\, January 14th\, 2017.\nTickets will go on sale Friday\, December 2nd at 9:00am. \nThis is an all ages event. \n$30.00 plus applicable fees\, increase day of the show plus applicable fees\n$35.00 plus applicable fees\, increase day of the show plus applicable fees\n$45.00 plus applicable fees\, increase day of the show plus applicable fees \nSince the band's 2010 inception\, Young the Giant has made a name for itself in rock as the “thinking man's band\,” winning over fans\, radio\, and press with their incendiary live shows\, strong musicianship\, and poignant lyrics. The band's 2010 self-titled debut\, which reached No. 6 on the Rock and Alternative album charts\, featured the RIAA Gold-certified hits\, “Cough Syrup” and “My Body\,” which peaked at No. 2 and No. 4\, respectively on Al-ternative Radio. The band's sophomore release 2014's Mind Over Matter hit No. 7 on The Billboard 200 and spawned the hits\, “It's About Time\,” which reached No. 2 on the Alter-native Radio chart and the title track\, which hit No. 15. \nEven with chart successes\, critical praise (Rolling Stone\, Billboard)\, coveted television ap-pearances (The Late Show with David Letterman\, MTV Video Music Awards)\, and high pro-file festivals (Lollapalooza\, Bonnaroo)\, Young the Giant still feel like they have a lot more to do and\, more important\, a lot more to say as a band. \n“We have a platform and we have our own beliefs\, but at the same time\, what's amazing about songwriting\, music\, or literature is that it brings people together and it shows peo-ple that everyone has the same problems and wants the same thing. This record is really a call to consciousness to really understand our predicament\,” adds Gadhia. \nThere comes a time in a young band's life when they hit that sweet spot where their voice\, their sound\, and their unity as a band gel perfectly. For Los Angeles-based indie rockers Young the Giant\, that time is now. This trifecta of musical magic manifests itself on the band's third album\, Home of the Strange\, on Fueled by Ramen. \nTickets are available at:\nBampProject.com
