SUMMARY:Baraka Moon in Concert Wednesday March 29
DESCRIPTION:Direct from San Francisco BARAKA MOON ECSTATIC GLOBAL TRANCE GROOVES \nBased in The San Francisco Bay Area and bringing together global citizens with origins in Pakistan\, the UK\, Canada and the USA Baraka Moon's all original music ignites from ancient Qawaali Sufi trance songs\, Indian classical ragas\, Middle Eastern overtones and African drums & percussion\, plus the Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo and brings all those influences together into an uplifting and resonant whole – spiritually charged and soulful dance music with a positive message of peace for the whole world! \nBaraka is the Sufi word for blessing. Charismatic and passionate vocalist Sukhawat Ali Khan fronts Baraka Moon performing on the harmonium and drawing from his luminary family's 600 years of vocal tradition with a voice that comes straight from the heart\, while didjeridu virtuoso Stephen Kent\, a globally acclaimed pioneer in bringing the ancient Aboriginal instrument to the contemporary world\, plows a deep earthy groove and shakes it down together with Peter Warren's driving drums as Anastasi Mavrides paints singing constellations with his shimmering guitar. Open your soul and sing your heart! Even the gods are dancing and smiling!!! \nFormed on the night of a blood moon eclipse Baraka Moon brings together a unique and ecstatic combination of traditional and contemporary Pakistani and Indian music with the Australian Aboriginal Didjeridu\, combining them with an afro-funking blues rhythm section that whirls the frenzied crowd into the stratosphere! \nTICKETS: $15 at the door! SUMMARY:BAMP Project present Mr. Carmack
DESCRIPTION:Aaron Carmack also known as Mr. Carmack is a Hawaii-based producer blurring the distinction between Hip Hop and Dance Music in a progressive way that even has the most seasoned producers scratching their heads. Born and raised in San Francisco\, Mr. Carmack is one of the most exciting producer/performer talents currently bubbling up from the new DIY electronic music underground. \nThings reached an early peak for Mr. Carmack at the start of 2013after achieving the #1 chart spot on Bandcamp twice with Bang\, Vol. 3 and Life/Death. Releases through key labels Mad Decent's Jeffree's imprint\, Soulection and Team Supreme started flowing\, as well as the opportunity to perform live live at Coachella and Low End Theory in Los Angeles. In the months since\, Mr. Carmack's cult has grown\, leading to acclaimed appearances across the globe\, yet more perfectly pristine explorations of the spaces between synth-folk\, tramp\, ambient and beats\, and the opportunity to get into the studio with Pharrell\, Djemba Djemba and Diplo. \nFull lineup to be announced \nTickets available Wednesday\, February 1st at 10:00 am:\nBampProject.com / JointheRepublik.com / SeeTickets.us / Local Motion Stores / Navy/Hickam ITT Offices / Army LTS Offices / UH Campus Center / The Republik Box Office Tuesday through Friday 10:00am until 6:00pm with a $2.00 service fee per ticket.
