SUMMARY:Hatha Yoga
DESCRIPTION:Most forms of yoga in the West can be classified as Hatha Yoga. Hatha simply refers to the practice of physical yoga postures\, meaning your Ashtanga\, vinyasa\, Iyengar and Power Yoga classes are all Hatha Yoga. The word “hatha” can be translated two ways: as “willful” or “forceful\,” or the yoga of activity\, and as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha)\, the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body\, mind\, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

SUMMARY:Yin Yoga with Julia Monosova
DESCRIPTION:Dear Yogis\, \nI would love to invite you to join me for relaxing\, rejuvenating and deeply nourishing YinYoga* class. \nThis class is suitable for all levels! Beginners and advanced yogis welcome. Yoga mats will be provided but please bring a beach towel since we don't provide blankets. \n*Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga with poses or asanas that are held for longer periods of time. This style of yoga focuses on the connective tissues of the body with an emphasis on opening the hips and spine\, as well as clearing the energetic channels of the body (meridians). This class will include pranayama (breathing exercise) and deep relaxation at the end. \nDATE: SATURDAY\, 4 MARCH\, 2017\nTIME: 11am – 1pm\nPRICE: $15 (cash or paypal) \nSpace is limited. RSVP is required to attend. RSVP to julia.monosova@gmail.com \nFor more info about the teacher\, visit – http://www.juliamonosova.com/bio \nYin Yoga is very grounding and nourishing\, excellent for those who experience stress and anxiety or simply need to recharge their batteries. It soothes and awakens your whole being. This style of yoga benefits the physical body by freeing up the tight connective tissue capsules that form around the muscles and joints. As the body ages this tightening increases creating limited mobility. The moisture that keeps the joints lubricated begins to dry up and the body takes on a brittle quality often associated with old age. This physical aging is not just due to natural aging but lack of addressing the tissues that are responsible for maintain the agility of the joints. When people say Yoga Keeps you young\, they are referring to the suppleness of the joints and whole body due to the moisture stimulating stretches of a practice. Yin Yoga aims to work on this directly. The psychological and emotional benefits of a Yin Practice are enormously healing for the entire wellbeing of the practitioner. The long holds in a single still Yin posture becomes a time of inner reflection\, meditation and peace. The nervous system is calmed\, the mind stilled\, and in this state the body returns to its natural healthy rhythm.

SUMMARY:Meditative Coloring
DESCRIPTION:Can you remember the sense of peace and enjoyment you felt while coloring as a child? Can coloring help you relax? \nFrom choosing colors to the gentle\, repetitive motion of your hands as you bring color to paper\, coloring can be seen as a form of “active meditation”. Join us every Saturday for this mellow\, relaxing event. \nProgram schedule is subject to change. Program is suitable for ages 16 and older. All materials will be supplied.
