SUMMARY:Webinar: Hawaii Legal Update on County GMO Ordinances Ruling
DESCRIPTION:On November 18\, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit declared that under Hawai‘i law\, counties and municipalities do not have the authority to regulate commercialized GE crops and local pesticide use (as some in other states do)\, and that Hawai‘i state law places such authority in the hands of the State alone. \nBut what does all this mean for our fight for a healthy food future here in Hawai'i? Join Center for Food Safety Staff Attorneys George Kimbrell and Sylvia Wu\, as well as Paul Achitoff of Earthjustice for a FREE webinar to learn more about the ruling and ask your questions from the legal team. \nWHEN: November 29th from 12PM to 1PM HST\nRSVP for the webinar: http://cfs.center/hawaiilegalupdate (you will receive e-mail instructions for attending) \nMORE INFORMATION & RESOURCES: \n1) Read the Center for Food Safety press release: http://cfs.center/hiruling\n2) Download our community debrief: http://cfs.center/hirulingdebrief\n3) Sign the petition urging HI State Legislature and Gov.
