SUMMARY:Cashmere Cat - Presented by Electric Palms
DESCRIPTION:Cashmere Cat – Presented by Electric Palms\nThe cat is finally about to be out of the bag. Not that Cashmere Cat has exactly kept a clandestine profile\, working as he has with so many of the top names in pop\, R&B\, and hip-hop\, from Kanye West to Ariana Grande — a track record that's threatened to make him a household name just as a producer. But as a recording artist in his own right\, he's taking off the wraps with the release of his first full-length album under his own nom de plume. The spring release sports guest appearances from a who's who of contemporary music\, including The Weeknd\, Selena Gomez\, Camila Cabello\, 2 Chainz\, Tory Lanez\, Francis & the Lights\, Starrah\, and other Cat lovers dropping in to help usher him into the ranks of true marquee artists. \nWhen he was still on his first life\, the plaudits came in just for his behind-the-scenes work. “The introverted producer is pop's new not-so-secret weapon\,” raved Fader. Not so very many years ago\, the artist formerly known as Magnus August Høiberg was a fledgling DJ in his native Norway\, doing ear-grabbing remixes for famous artists like Lana Del Rey and Drake… some of them authorized\, some not. His skills attracted an American audience that eventually grew to include super-producer Benny Blanco\, a mentor who encouraged him to come to New York. Their sensibilities meshed\, with Blanco “bringing me in because he believed that the weirder shit I was doing could work in a more poppy sense.” \nAs an American immigrant\, he quickly became recognized for his co-production work on records as diverse as Ludacris' “Party Girls\,” Ryn Weaver's “Octahate\,” Charli XCX's “Break the Rules\,” Britney Spears' “Just Luv Me\,” and Tinashe's “All Hands on Deck\,” earning his first Grammy nomination for Tory Lanez' “Luv.” Ariana Grande not only used him on record but took him out on tour as her opening act. When the Weeknd's Starboy was finally unveiled in late 2016\, four of its most wildly well-received songs had Cashmere Cat at the helm\, so it's no surprise that the Weeknd has returned the favor by coming over as a featured artist on his producer pal's feature-length debut. \nCashmere Cat traces a realization about his own style and potential to working with Kanye West on “Wolves\,” a song from The Life of Pablo. “The way that record came out set the standard for what I want my own music to sound like\,” he says. “It was a new sound for me\, and it made me feel like I can do really beautiful\, weird music that isn't just banging rap songs or big-feeling pop music. A lot of my old sound will still be in the new record\,” he promises\, “but I think I'm influenced by a lot of different music that I wasn't before — like\, I've been listening to a lot of Arca (the forward-leaning Venezuelan producer/DJ who's worked with Bjork). I hope and believe that I'm doing something that's worthy of an album and not just something that will bang in the club.” Of course\, if it just so happens to be strange and gorgeous and make the floor explode\, too\, that'll be something to purr about.

SUMMARY:Halestorm - Presented by BAMP Project
DESCRIPTION:Halestorm – Presented by BAMP Project \nWith special guests Kings of Spade \nWidely acknowledged as one of modern hard rock’s most explosive live acts\, Grammy Award-winning band Halestorm recently released their third studio album INTO THE WILDLIFE. Recorded last year in Nashville with GRAMMY®-nominated producer Jay Joyce (Cage The Elephant\, Eric Church) at the helm\, “INTO THE WILDLIFE” is highlighted by the historic new single\, “Apocalyptic.” \nThe track recently ascended to the top at Active Rock radio outlets nationwide in an astounding 9 weeks – the first time a female-fronted band has scored #1 hits at the format three times as well as the first to have #1 songs from two consecutive albums. Furthermore\, “Apocalyptic” has hit #1 at Mainstream Rock radio\, marking Halestorm as the fourth-ever female-led act to top the format more than once. As if that weren’t enough\, the song’s electrifying companion video has drawn over 2 million individual views thus far at Halestorm’s official YouTube channel. \nA new companion video for “Amen\,” the next single from “INTO THE WILDLIFE\,” recently debuted at RollingStone.com Directed by DJay Brawner (Ed Sheeran\, Panic! At The Disco)\, the provocative clip has surpassed 1.5 million views at. In addition to its extraordinary popular success\, “INTO THE WILDLIFE” has also begun receiving unprecedented critical acclaim. \n“(The album) is a different beast altogether\,” declared veteran rock journalist Jon Wiederhorn at Yahoo! Music\, “one that forsakes everything that has worked for Halestorm thus far (slick production\, traditional songwriting arrangements\, a radio-ready mix of rockers and ballads) and takes a leap into the unknown… The risk of following its instincts has paid off.”

SUMMARY:23rd Annual Kona Brewers Festival 2018
DESCRIPTION:The Kona Brewers Festival\nMarch 10\, 2018\n3:00PM-7:00 PM \nTickets on sale December 16\, 2017\, 11AM (HST)\nOnline Only at http://www.konabrewersfestival.com \nNEW: Upgraded Connoisseurs Event Tickets \nOur great Festival moves into 2018 as a million-dollar plus fundraiser for local organizations serving the environment\, education\, culture and youth over its’ twenty-two-year history. Festival goers remember the feel – good beer\, great food\, trash fashion\, and fun in the sun\, but coming together to celebrate craft beer is just the beginning. The Springtime event is a tremendous collaboration of more than 500 people from various groups and businesses and remains focused on community and natural resources. After testing a shorter two session format for the past two years\, the Kona Brewers Festival will join all ticket holders together into one extended session on March 10\, 2018. New this year will be an upgraded ticket that allows access to Honu’s Tap Room and Lounge for a special connoisseurs area with additional tastes and activities. \nThe day kicks off with the Run for Hops\, a fun\, family-friendly 5k run/walk and 10k run that helps support the Kona Brewers Festival beneficiary organizations and the PATH Bike Safety Education Program for Hawaii Island. In a spirit of Pualu (working together)\, 36 chefs and 36 brewers showcase their tastes on the beautiful luau grounds of the Courtyard King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel. \nTickets: \nGeneral Admission\, 3:00pm to 7:00pm\, $85 to support island beneficiary organizations focused on environment\, education\, culture and youth and include. \n Admission to the four-hour festival\n Commemorative glass mug\n Ten brew tasting coupons\n Unlimited sampling of gourmet cuisine\n An afternoon of entertainment\n The legendary Trash Fashion show\n Some of Hawaii’s best musical groups \nA limited number of Honu’s Taproom and Lounge Connoisseurs Tickets are available at a cost of $185 to support island beneficiary organizations. These upgraded tickets include all General Admission amenities plus admission to the festival and Honu’s Taproom & Lounge for a five-hour festival. Honu tickets offer special beer and food pairings\, entertainment\, air conditioned seating\, educational talks by local brewers\, and access to move between the Lounge and general areas make this ticket the best for connoisseurs and extreme beer lovers\, while further supporting the fundraising efforts of the festival. The Lounge is open from 2:00pm-4:30pm. \nThe festival is made possible by more than 15 non-profits who donate their volunteers to staff the event. In turn\, festival proceeds provide a financial gift to fund local work year-round. “All the Beneficiaries volunteer in some way to make the Kona Brewers Festival a success.” Said Kate Jacobson\, Executive Director of the Kona Brewers Festival\, “These non-profit organizations do critical work to make our Island and the world a better place. We really want our island community to get to know that work through this festival. The beneficiary section of our website as well as our downloadable mobile app help connect the issues and causes to the party.” \nIn addition to funding some of the best island programs\, this special event on the shores of Kamakahonu Bay diverts 90% of festival waste from landfills\, much of it becoming soil for Hawaii Island school gardens. The Kona Brewers Festival proudly accepted the 2017 Hawaii Green Business Award\, and to offset the carbon impact of flying to Honolulu to accept the award\, Rolinia trees were given to Beneficiary organizations to plant throughout the island. \nAfter 22 years operating under the auspices of the Oregon based\, Bill Healy Foundation\, the Kona Brewers Festival is proud to announce the launch of their very own Ke Kai Ala Foundation\, a locally based foundation created to advance the values of the Kona Brewers Festival. \nKe Kai Ala and Kona Brewers Festival values include: \nCommunity collaboration – cultivating aloha among diverse groups through celebration that benefits nonprofits \nSustainable Legacy – perpetuating a model of interconnectedness between humans\, culture and environment \nResponsible Guidance – acting with integrity and generosity for future generations \nKe Kai Ala represents the path to the sea\, and our responsibility as island residents to the aina and all things connected. \nLocation: \nCourtyard King Kamehmeha's Kona Beach Hotel in Kailua Kona Village \nDates: \nTicket Sales: December 16\, 2017 at 11am (HST) \nOnline Only\, http://www.konabrewersfestival.com \nGeneral Admission Ticket Holders: March 10\, 2018 3:00pm-7:00pm \nHonu’s Tap Room & Lounge Ticket Holders: March 10\, 2018 2:00pm-4:30pm \nRun for the Hops 5K / 10K – Saturday\, March 10 \nThe day of beer tasting takes off with a running start at the “Run for the Hops” 5K / 10K run/ walk. Judges come from all over the United States to evaluate entries for 28 different styles. SUMMARY:Alaska's Blackwater Railroad
DESCRIPTION:Blackwater Railroad Company is a folk-rock group built from diametrically opposed backgrounds\, coincidentally brought together by love of music and Alaska. \nThe group is adding new original music with every passing show\, mainly culled from the prolific songwriting capacities of its frontman\, Tyson Davis. His flat-picking style\, performed on a steel resonator guitar lovingly named Loretta\, lends the sorrowful tone of a banjo to contrast his upbeat\, catchy lyrical songwriting and melodies. \nAlongside their original music\, BWRR strives to introduce audiences to the music that inspires them\, much of which is from more obscure sources from past musical eras as well as more recent music\, re-imagined and performed with a new angle. In one evening\, audiences will hear a wide range of the band's muses\, such as Devil Makes Three\, The Felice Brothers\, MGMT\, John Prine\, Townes Van Zandt\, old blues standards made famous by The Band\, and even the likes of Madonna and They Might Be Giants. \nWhatever they bring to the table\, an evening with BWRR promises lots of dancing\, the love of whiskey and laughter with friends. \n6-9pm\, all ages\, $10 don.
