SUMMARY:Intermediate Lindy Hop
DESCRIPTION:This class is taught by Andi Gil — The Lindy hop is an American dance that evolved in Harlem\, New York City\, in the 1920s and 1930s and originally evolved with the jazz music of that time. It was very popular during the Swing era of the late 1930s and early 1940s. Lindy was a fusion of many dances that preceded it or were popular during its development but is mainly based on jazz\, tap\, breakaway\, and Charleston.

DESCRIPTION:Most forms of yoga in the West can be classified as Hatha Yoga. Hatha simply refers to the practice of physical yoga postures\, meaning your Ashtanga\, vinyasa\, Iyengar and Power Yoga classes are all Hatha Yoga. The word “hatha” can be translated two ways: as “willful” or “forceful\,” or the yoga of activity\, and as “sun” (ha) and “moon” (tha)\, the yoga of balance. Hatha practices are designed to align and calm your body\, mind\, and spirit in preparation for meditation.

SUMMARY:Beginning Charleston
DESCRIPTION:This class is taught by Andi Gil — The Charleston is a dance named for the harbor city of Charleston\, South Carolina. The rhythm was popularized in mainstream dance music in the United States by a 1923 tune called “The Charleston” by composer/pianist James P. Johnson which originated in the Broadway show Runnin' Wild and became one of the most popular hits of the decade. Runnin' Wild ran from 29 October 1923 through 28 June 1924.
