This is key into building strong and powerful muscles. During all these movements and exercises we are keeping body conscious and working on alignment as a ballerina would. We are always keeping our core strong and held the entire time. Then we move into center for cardio burn! This is the fun part! You push yourself and get sweaty. We then finish the second half of class with yoga and pilates. \n* Barre has body and mind benefits. This workout builds toned muscles\, increases metabolism\, and helps your alignment and posture through everyday life. Founded in 2002\, Puna Taiko’s mission is to “perpetuate the rich cultural tradition of taiko (Japanese\ndrumming) while reinforcing the concepts of individual uniqueness and interdependent teamwork.” To this end\, Puna Taiko’s primary performance ensemble is the Youth Performance group\, which is made up of students from schools across East Hawai’i; including Kea’au High\, Kea’au Middle\, Waiakea High\, Hawai’i Academy of Arts and Sciences and the University of Hawai’i at Hilo. \nPuna Taiko ensembles have performed on the Big Island\, Oahu\, Maui and even in Los Angeles\, California. Lessons are offered every Sunday afternoon with Junior Taiko\, Adult\, Recreational\, and Bamboo Flute classes\, all of which are open to the public. \nThe Great Barusky has been performing for three decades! A member of the International Brotherhood of Magicians’ Merlin Society and the Society of American Magicians\, he is one of the founding members of the Big Island Magic Club. You can find him on stage and close-up at different venues and community events. DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, December 3rd from 1-3pm\nRaja Yoga workshops incorporate all eight limbs of yoga; perfect for the intermediate or long-term yoga practitioner to explore the depths of yoga that normal weekly practices hint at but rarely reveal. These practices will begin with structured asana and flow sequences\, segue into restorative yoga\, and then finish with pranayama and meditation. Each class will incorporate a theme and teachings from classic yogic texts\, Ayurveda or mindfulness readings. Hands-on adjustments will be offered to participants who want them. This is Amanda's favorite type of practice and she is looking forward to offering these classes at Yoga Centered!
