SUMMARY:Explore Rhythm at Kalani
DESCRIPTION:Please join visiting Austrian TaKeTiNa teacher KLAUDIA VERNE and local TaKeTiNa teacher DEBORAH MASTERSON for a special Rhythm Full Circle. \nDevelop your awareness and deepen your understanding of rhythm in its many forms. You don’t need to play an instrument. People from all paths come together to transform their relationship to music\, to each other\, and to life. \nIn a two-hour rhythm circle\, we vocalize\, step\, and clap simultaneously. Gently held and supported by the group\, we weave different rhythms on several levels.\nOur experience of repeatedly falling into chaos and then re-emerging into a higher level of organization leads us to an awareness not only of music\, but also of learning and life. It’s an opportunity for us –together– to EXPLORE the power of RHYTHM to instruct\, challenge\, and heal. More info at rhythmfullcircle.com/rhythm-circles/ \nVisiting TaKeTiNa teacher KLAUDIA VERNE has a background in massage\, acupuncture\, and other forms of energetic body work which she applies in private practice in Linz\, Austria.\nLocal co-facilitator DEBORAH MASTERSON has been offering TaKeTiNa rhythm circles for nearly 20 years\, including in the past\, regular circles at Kalani for two years.\nBoth Klaudia and Deborah trained with the founder of the TaKeTiNa Rhythm Process\, Reinhard Flatischler. SUMMARY:Backbending\, Breathing\, and Bandhas
DESCRIPTION:Backbending\, Breathing\, and Bandhas\nA Jivamukti Yoga Workshop with Banka \nBackbends provide entry into the ANAHATA (heart) chakra\, located at the center of the chest. Anahata chakra is associated with our karmic relationships with others whom we feel have hurt us. \nWhen we bend backwards\, we access our heart center and allow the experience of those relationships to come to the surface. That can be scary\, because it forces us to see that the source of negativity is within us\, not in the others whom we usually feel have wronged us— we can only see things outside of us that we already have within us; nothing exists in the world except as a projection of our own minds. \nBackbends also stimulate the thymus gland. The thymus plays a significant role in our immune system\, which can be suppressed when we dwell in dark emotions.
