DESCRIPTION:February 11th 8am – 11am \nMicroOrganism Class w/ Eric Weinert & Dana Keawe \nCome and learn Natural Farming at our Hawaiian Sanctuary Educational Facility in Puna\, Hawaii. Natural Farming incorporates the Lowest Cost Farming Method so that all supplies are sourced and/or grown here on the island. This complete system of farming saves so much money from buying implements that you can pay yourself more to farm. Natural Farming is about harnessing the power of beneficial microorganisms to provide all the nutrients for a healthy thriving plant or garden. \nWhat to expect: Each class is built upon the next class and are somewhat spontaneous due to the nature of the unpredictable nature of breeding microorganisms. Drake takes you on a journey of the the lifecycle of fungus\, bacteria\, protozoa\, nematodes and more and how they thrive. See below class for example of what to expect. Many subjects are reintroduced at each class so a student will be just as interested if they missed any previous classes. \nPrevious classes covered: Primer on Fermented Plant Juice\, Seawater\, Worm Juice = wood juice\, Use of Lactic Acid Bacteria\, brewing fungal dominant compost teas\, short intro. to tree planting the Master Cho way. Class made IMO 3 using hands. Dana Keawe taught fermented plant juice with hands on banana flower fermentation. \nTeacher Bio: Drake is an indigenous macrobe born in Puna\, and has been studying Korean natural farming since 2007 with Master Cho. He has further refined his knowledge of this rejuvenating microscopic science under soil food web expert Elaine Ingham and how to make the solutions affordable and straightforward with Gil Carandang of the Philippines. he is presently the agricultural instructor at Kalaniana'ole middle school in Papaikou and resides on his family farm in Onomea. He is often found beautifying the streets of Hilo and spraying the roadsides with beneficial microbes\, and on youtube and http://www.naturalfarminghawaii.net. \n∞ Cost: $15 \nNOTE: Lunch is not included\, yet available at 12:30 for $12\, mahalo! \n~ COME DRESSED AND READY WITH SUN HAT\, NOTEBOOK\, WATER BOTTLE & CLOSED TOED SHOES \nRESERVE YOUR SPOT HERE:\nhttp://hawaiiansanctuary.com/event/hawaiian-planting-permaculture/2015-02-11/

SUMMARY:First Sunday featuring Ken Emerson
DESCRIPTION:Ken Emerson has played his special blend of Blues/Jazz Hawaiian guitar for over 40 years.. Born into a musical family\, Ken grew up with his fathers’ extensive record collection of jazz\, swing\, Hawaiian and world music styles. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area\, He played the folk and blues songs of the early/mid ‘60s\, learning right hand fingerstyle techniques that led to his development as a fingerstyle picker. With the explosion of the San Francisco sound of the later ‘60′s Ken also immersed himself into rock and electric blues styles. He was particularly drawn to bottleneck and slide guitar. In 1968 Ken’s family moved to Hawaii. Absorbing the Hawaiian culture\, Ken began studying Hawaiian language and music emulating the great steel guitar players of the 1920′s and ‘30s era by listening to vintage Hawaiian 78 rpm records\, zeroing in on the jazz and blues styles of Sol Ho’opi’i and Sol K. Bright. Soon Ken was playing alongside such legendary performers as Gabby Pahinui\, Genoa Keawe\, Raymond Kane\, and Moe Keale. Ken was featured on Hawaii's first Grammy winning album as well as with mainstream performers like Donald Fagen (Steely Dan). Dividing his time between Kaua’i and San Francisco\, Ken plays many Hawaiian venues and festivals and frequently does blues and jazz tours of the east coast of the United States as well as Europe and Asia.

SUMMARY:Thai Massage Training with Lindsey Britt
DESCRIPTION:Thai Massage Training with Lindsey Britt\nFebruary 6th & 7th\n12:30-3:30pm\n& 5:30pm-8:30pm\nFebruary 13th & 14th\n12:30-3:30pm\n& 5:30pm – 8:30pm\nOnly $350 for two weekends of training with experienced instructor Lindsey Britt! \nThai Yoga Bodywork (TYB) is\, most essentially\, a meditative dance for sharing compassionate touch in order to unblock energy stagnation. It is a holistic healing technique used as a tool to awaken one's spiritual flame and inner therapist. Learning the art of TYB is not about memorizing a series of exercises\, nor about thinking that we can cure someone of their sicknesses. It is about learning to give from the heart with compassion\, and to gain deep understanding through listening\nto the suffering of another. \nWe are all One. We are reflections of one another’s strengths and weaknesses. We are all connected\, all learning how to give and to receive\, to touch\, to breath\, to feel. When we massage\, we don’t aim to heal\, but to help others believe that they can and do heal. When we are present with our connection and our oneness\, the healing process happens all by itself. We are just channels to remind each other of this\, and to facilitate the process.
