SUMMARY:Full Moon Vedic Fire Ceremony
DESCRIPTION:International Kirtan Artist and Spiritual teacher Maitreya is visiting Hawaii for a short time and will be preforming this fire ceremony. Maitreya has received intensive mantra training in 2014 and 2015 by senior priests in Sri Shakti Amma’s ashram\, South India\, along with blessings and guidance to perform Ancient Vedic Yagams (Fire Ceremonies) that bring balance and peace to the environment. \nFull moon fire puja\, know as yagam or havan\, is an ancient Vedic fire ceremony performed around the world on full moon. It involves chanting mantras and making offerings into the fire to bring peace and joy to the world. Puja\, amongst other things\, is a beautiful opportunity to meditate\, set a new resolution\, offer a prayer for the world\, a loved one\, our own healing and to experience our innate divinity. \nWe hold the puja on the eve before the full of the moon as this is the time when the energy from the moon is magnified\, allowing greater transformation for all. Specifically\, the chants we do in this puja invoke Narayani (Divine Mother) to bring the three aspects and blessings of Godesses Saraswathi\, Lakshmi\, and Durga which are the embodiments of Wisdom\, Abundance and Strength respectively.\nThe puja takes about 45-60 minutes and everyone will have an opportunity to participate\, by making an offering into the fire if they wish. Ghee is the main offering into the fire as it is believed to nourish the angelic realms. \nSri Sakthi Amma Wisdom\n” Some people like prayer\, some like offerings – ‘pujas’\, some like ‘bhajans’ – hymns\, some prefer yoga\, others meditation\, to name a few of the many spiritual paths. All paths are right. Choose whatever path your heart desires and follow it.” \nThis event is offered by heartfelt donation (minimum suggestion $15) All proceeds to Charity

SUMMARY:George Benson
DESCRIPTION:10-Time Grammy Award Winner\nGEORGE BENSON\nReturns to Hawaii! \nWednesday\, March 4th – Blaisdell Concert Hall \nHonolulu\, HI – 10-time Grammy Award Winner George Benson returns to Hawaii for two rare concerts in March! Benson will also play at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center March 3. \nBenson\, recognized by peers and fans alike as an innovative music master\, fused his love of guitar-centric jazz and soul with R&B\, which resulted in a sound that dominated pop radio to the surprise and delight of a generation. \n“Breezin’”\, Benson’s 1976 release\, may be considered the first jazz album to hit platinum status (it has since gone triple-platinum)\, but its success is also measured by the sheer amount of airplay it received on mainstream radio stations: the album topped the jazz\, soul and pop charts simultaneously\, due in large part to the success of Benson’s soulful\, scat-laden cover of Leon Russell’s “This Masquerade.” \nSubsequent releases also received critical and commercial success\, fueled by hits like “Give Me the Night\,” “Turn Your Love Around\,” “The Greatest Love of All\,” “Being with You\,” “God Bless the Child” (with Al Jareau and Jill Scott) and “On Broadway”.
