SUMMARY:Flower Vases of Tea Ceremony Exhibit
DESCRIPTION:The hanaire (flower vase) with chabana (flowers) and ojiku (scroll) are prominently displayed in the alcove of a tea room. Each guest in a tea ceremony visits the alcove and respectfully views these tea utensils prior to the tea ceremony (sadou). As such\, the hanaire plays a very important role in sadou. This exhibit of traditional hanaire is presented by Shofu Kai\, a group of ceramists at the Hawai’i Potters’ Guild who have been studying together to learn about the artistry of utensils used in the Japanese tea ceremony\, a cornerstone of Japanese culture.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly book discussion! \nBarcelona\, 1945: A city slowly heals in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War\, and Daniel\, an antiquarian book dealer’s son who mourns the loss of his mother\, finds solace in a mysterious book entitled The Shadow of the Wind\, by one Julián Carax.
