SUMMARY:Robotics at Your Library
DESCRIPTION:The Blue Fish Robotics team will demonstrate their VEX IQ robots and allow participants to drive them in soccer and racing activities. VEX IQ incorporates all four pillars of STEM (science\, technology\, engineering\, & math) and encourages teamwork\, problem-solving\, and leadership for students as young as third grade. This 90-minute program is suitable for ages 5 and older. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. \nProgram schedule is subject to change. Contact the library 10 days in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.

DESCRIPTION:30\,000 years ago\, a voyaging people sailed from their origin in Southeast Asia and began an epic oceanic migration which populated Indonesia\, Australia and eventually the islands in the Pacific.  \nToday this legacy continues as Pacific Oceanic navigators have just completed the Mālama Honua Worldwide Voyage. \nCome learn about different perspectives on navigational astronomy and indigenous techniques of wayfinding\, and see how these techniques have evolved into modern day wayfinding.  \nThis presentation will be hosted by ‘Ahia Dye\, ‘Imiloa's Planetarium Technician and Support Facilitator.
