DESCRIPTION:November 12 – December 20\, 2016 \nThe Vans Triple Crown of Surfing returns to the North Shore of Oahu for the men’s series and women’s Roxy Pro at Sunset Beach. Kicking off with the Op Pro at Haleiwa\, the series continues with the O’Neill World Cup of Surfing and women’s Roxy Pro at Sunset Beach\, and lastly the Billabong Pipeline Masters at the infamous Banzai Pipeline. Lee’s love and enthusiasm for music is genuinely showcased in every performance.  Mr. Eisenstein has been a featured performer at various local\, national\, and international music festivals. This 45-minute program is suitable for all ages. Young children must be accompanied by a parent or adult caregiver. \nProgram is funded by the Friends of the Library of Hawaii. This is a production of the University of Hawaii at Manoa Outreach College’s Statewide Cultural Extension Program with additional funding and support provided by the National Endowment for the Arts\, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts\, and the University of Hawaii. \nProgram schedule is subject to change. Contact the library (10 days for Oahu; 15 days for neighbor islands) in advance to request a sign language interpreter or if special accommodations are needed.

Through photos\, stories\, and data\, ornithologist Laura Berthold will inform you about their threats and the work that is being done to help their populations. These birds are rare and found nowhere else in the world. \nLaura Berthold has spent the past eight years working for the Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project\, helping the endangered kiwikiu. \nThis one-hour program is free of charge and recommended for adults and children age 15 and older.
