DESCRIPTION:Mālama Maui Nui’s goal for this year’s local Great American Cleanup campaign (March 19- April 30) is to inspire and empower individuals and community groups to remove litter and debris from shorelines\, waterways\, roads\, and other public spaces. \nGreat American Cleanup volunteers are motivated by the notion that litter-free places allow for an ecosystem’s natural beauty to shine. Native species of plants and animals can thrive in healthy habitats\, and people can experience first-hand the richness of Hawai‘i’s pristine environment. \nIt is essential to engage the people who live in each community within Maui County to take the lead on how to care for the land where they live\, work\, and play. The residents of each area know it best\, and they have the potential to create the greatest impact on their community’s environmental health\, which directly influences our overall quality of life. \nThis year’s theme\, “Clean Your Block Party”\, emphasizes the power of the collaborative effort\, and how a group of individuals—of any age\, background\, or ability—can have a positive impact by taking action wherever they see a need. \nJoin us March 19 for the GAC Kickoff\, and be inspired to organize a Great American Cleanup of your own! She hopes to create an environment where students can learn how to be more present. Certified through YogaWorks in Costa Mesa\, CA in early 2010. DESCRIPTION:Aloha\, and welcome to Hilo “Gospel Jazz Jam”! ALL Musicians\, Singers\, and Listeners of all ages are invited to participate. All songs are dedicated to God\, and participants are encouraged to worship God with their instruments (or voices) … with improvisations of any length highly encouraged! smile emoticon This is an event intended for both christian and non-christian musician/singers to have fun and fellowship together\, and also to hone our musical and improvisational skills. This event is on the first Sun of each month from 6:30p to 9p\, and it will be hosted by a rhythm section. There will be 2 mics available for any vocalists or horn players to join in at any time. For rhythm players (kybd\, bass\, drums\, gtr)\, plz msg me to let me know which tunes you'd like to play\, and I'll work you into the sets. Songs we intend to do will be posted on the Gospel Jazz Jam's Facebook page. If you would like to do a song not posted\, feel free to post here or msg me.
