SUMMARY:Great American Cleanup Maui County part 1
DESCRIPTION:Mālama Maui Nui’s goal for this year’s local Great American Cleanup campaign (March 19- April 30) is to inspire and empower individuals and community groups to remove litter and debris from shorelines\, waterways\, roads\, and other public spaces. \nGreat American Cleanup volunteers are motivated by the notion that litter-free places allow for an ecosystem’s natural beauty to shine. Native species of plants and animals can thrive in healthy habitats\, and people can experience first-hand the richness of Hawai‘i’s pristine environment. \nIt is essential to engage the people who live in each community within Maui County to take the lead on how to care for the land where they live\, work\, and play. The residents of each area know it best\, and they have the potential to create the greatest impact on their community’s environmental health\, which directly influences our overall quality of life. \nThis year’s theme\, “Clean Your Block Party”\, emphasizes the power of the collaborative effort\, and how a group of individuals—of any age\, background\, or ability—can have a positive impact by taking action wherever they see a need. \nJoin us March 19 for the GAC Kickoff\, and be inspired to organize a Great American Cleanup of your own! Check out the GAC Coordinator Toolkit at MalamaMauiNui.org\, with best practices and activity ideas designed to help anyone conduct a Great American Cleanup event in their neighborhood.

SUMMARY:BAMP Project & RVCA present Action Bronson
DESCRIPTION:A raunchy\, cylinder-shaped ginger of Eastern European ancestry might not be the first dude you'd peg for rap stardom\, but that's exactly the mantle Action Bronson is on the verge of possessing. Over the last two years\, the 28-year old Queens native has become one of hip-hop's most charismatic and colorful new characters\, thanks to his wicked sense of humor\, a buffet of impressive releases and the rare knack for updating cherished East Coast aesthetics into indisputably modern music. \nBronson’s insistent delivery and penchant for flamboyant phraseology initially drew some comparisons to Ghostface\, but he has long since matured beyond such superficialities. In 2011 alone\, he released Bon Appetit….Bitch!\, The Program EP\, Dr. Lecter and Well Done. 2012 introduced collaborations with artists like Earl Sweatshirt\, Riff Raff and SpaceGhostPurp\, as well as Blue Chips\, the brilliant street album produced by Party Supplies. In awarding the effort a lofty 8.1\, Pitchfork called Bronson “one of the most hilarious and creative writers in rap” who savagely captured the essence of New York’s seedy soul: “It is what a Weegee photograph would look like now.” \nA local opening act will be announced soon. \nDetails on the Show:\nWhere: The Republik\, 1349 Kapiolani Blvd 3rd Floor\, Honolulu\, HI 96814\nWhen: Thursday\, March 24th\, 2016\nLounge Doors: 6:00pm (21 and up)\nHall Doors: 7:00pm (All ages accompanied by an adult)\nShow: 9:00pm (All ages accompanied by an adult)\nPrices: $35.00 in advance plus applicable fees\, increase day of the show plus applicable fees \nTickets available Friday\, February 19th at 9:00am at:\nBampproject.com / Jointherepublik.com / Flavorus.com / Local Motion Stores / Navy/Hickam ITT Offices / Army LTS Offices / UH Campus Center / The Safehouse (the Lounge within The Republik) Tues-Sat 6p-1a with a $2 service fee per ticket / The Republik Box Office Tues-Fri 10a-6p with a $2 service fee per ticket
