She is an authorized teacher of Ashtanga Yoga. Although rooted in Ashtanga\, Nicki‘s teaching goes beyond the traditional. Her Vinyasa classes combine asana\, pranayama\, philosophy\, and poetry. Nicki’s emphasis is on awareness: creating integrity within each pose that can be carried beyond the mat into daily life. \nFriday January 4th\n5:30-8:30 pm – Intro to Maya Yoga Vinyasa Fusion\nThis class will be an introduction to Vinyasa Fusion\, suitable for all levels\, focusing on opening the front body and strengthening the back. Learn to create safety and strength by applying basic alignment principles to a Vinyasa style practice.We will cover in detail all the lunge work for which Maya Yoga is famous. Class will conclude with backbends and inversions.\nSaturday January 5th\n12:30-3:30 – Exploring How a Sustainable Practice Creates a Sustainable Life\nSince our practice is a representation of our lives\, we will explore how this sustainable approach to our asana practice helps us to create and sustain balance in our lives. We invite you to explore Nicki’s unique approach to Vinyasa yoga because it will strengthen all aspects of your being through dynamic structural alignment\, conscious breathing\, and practical yogic philosophy.\nSunday January 6th\n10:00am-1:00pm – Backbends to Extend the Spine and Expand your Consciousness\nThe practice of back bending can be exhilarating\, terrifying\, and incredibly fulfilling. Whatever reasons you come for\, whether it is to conquer some fears or to increase your capacity for expansion\, this class is for you. Son of the legendary ukulele artist\, Ohta-san\, Herb Ohta Jr’s natural talent\, knowledge\, technique\, and speed are unsurpassed. He is a master ukulele performer\, teacher\, composer\, recording artist\, and producer. Herb creates unique arrangements of new and familiar tunes and makes each song breathtakingly fresh and definitely his own. \nJon Yamasato\, with his band\, “Pure Heart”\, won 5 Na Hoku Hanohano awards\, Hawaii’s most prestigious music award. \nJon Yamasato performed with the group Na ‘Oiwi (with Dennis & David Kamakahi & Mike Kaawa) recording 2 CDs:  Crossroads and The Sequel.
