The new film\, Humpback Whales 3D\, will enjoy its Maui premiere on Sunday afternoon\, which will be open to the public. \nWhale Tales is hosted annually by Whale Trust\, a non-profit dedicated to whale research and education. DESCRIPTION:LOVE YOUR OCEAN Clean up! Come participate in a SURFRIDER hosted event to clean up our WAILOA park to avoid trash ending up in the river and ocean. We will gather to pick up trash\, followed by a refreshment meet and greet. Come be a part of the solution\, join and learn more about becoming part of hilos SURFRIDER Chapter! Are you a member? Come sign up and get a free reusable bag!!\nTeam up Clean up!! Keikis Welcome!! Bring water\, a hat or sunscreen in a non disposable container. Refereshments will be provided so bring your cup!\nLook for the blue Surfrider tent and Banner. We will be set up on the grass near the Bridge closest to the parking lot\, by the Civic entrance side of the park. We will have some small awards for attendees in a “most interesting piece of trash collected” contest. Shirt giveaways brught to you by Hilo Surfboard Co. The sucess of this event relies completely on volunteer efforts\, so swing by on this Valentines Day and help LOVE YOUR OCEAN!!  See you there!!

DESCRIPTION:Shakespeare’s beloved play takes on a new life in Benjamin Britten’s beautiful A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The versatility of the opera—from simple enchantment\, a traditional fairytale with plenty of action and comedy\, to a psychological treasure trove of madness and cruelty—will allow audiences young and old\, seasoned and new\, to delight in the production. \nAs Shakespeare’s most popular comedy\, A Midsummer Night’s Dream was written around 1594 and set to music by Britten in 1960. It portrays the adventures of four young lovers and a group of amateur actors\, their interactions with woodland fairies and a duke and duchess. Taking place in a mythical Athens and an enchanted forest\, there is a handsome fairy king\, a bewitched queen\, star-crossed lovers\, a weaver who is transformed into a half-donkey\, wood sprites\, and elves. This work is widely performed around the world\, and no wonder—it’s about the world’s most popular pastime: falling in love. But as Puck knows\, falling in love can make fools of us all. \nThis will be an exciting new production by HOT’s own design team under the artistic direction of Henry Akina.
