Performances will be New Year’s Eve at the Blaisdell Concert Hall in Honolulu and New Year’s Day at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center in Kahului. Making the celebration bigger than ever before\, the legendary comedian and host of HBO’s Real Time will welcome David Spade and Jeff Ross to the party for the first time ever. After sold-out shows for the past four years\, Maher continues to make good on his promise to be the “Don Ho of New Year’s.” \nAs the U.S. rings in a Presidential election year\, Maher will surely have plenty of material to draw from and there’s no telling what he will say. For over 20 years\, Maher\, who began his career as a stand-up comedian and still performs sold-out dates across the country\, has never held back and set the boundaries of where funny and political talk can go on American television. First on Politically Incorrect (Comedy Central\, ABC\, 1993-2002) and for the last 10 years on HBO’s Real Time\, Maher’s combination of unflinching honesty and big laughs has earned him 34 Emmy nominations; winning his first in 2014 as the Executive Producer for HBO’s Vice. In 2008\, he wrote and starred in Religulous directed by Larry Charles (Borat). The documentary about religions around the world went on to become the eighth highest grossing documentary ever. \nAdding to this New Year’s extravaganza will be Emmy and Golden Globe-nominated actor and comedian David Spade. The Saturday Night Live alum became a household name for role as Dennis Finch\, the wise-cracking\, power-hungry assistant on NBC’s Just Shoot Me. Spade was also part of the final season of the CBS comedy Rules of Engagement and last year he was heard as the voice of ‘Griffin invisible man’ in the animated film Hotel Transylvania. \nJeff Ross\, known as “The Roastmaster General” for his hilarious and bold celebrity roasts\, will also take the stage. This past summer Comedy Central aired his most recent special\, Jeff Ross Roasts Criminals: Live From Brazos County Jail. It was perhaps his most dangerous roast ever. Additionally\, he was recently seen on the big screen in Jeremy Garrelick’s The Wedding Ringer with Kevin Hart and Josh Gad and in Flock of Dudes with Chris D’Elia.
