DESCRIPTION:In recognition of Hawaii Fashion Month\, the Hawaii State Library presents a new exhibit\, “Fit to Print: Fifty Years of Fashion Advice from Hawaii's Magazines.”  Over the years\, magazines in Hawaii have helped illustrate the “now” fashions for the islands\, from showcasing the next season’s silhouette to introducing the latest back-to-school looks.  This exhibit takes a look back at trending fashions from 1950-2000\, as seen in the pages of Hawaii’s popular magazines.  The exhibit opens Wednesday\, November 4\, 2015\, and runs through November 30\, 2015.  The exhibit\, located in the First Floor Reading Room\, is free and open during the library's regular hours.

DESCRIPTION:November 22 & 29 12:30-3:00pm  $35 per class\, or $60 for both \nPartner yoga is not about striving hard to  achieve a great workout; in fact\, the intent of the practice is to let go of preconceptions of what is expected and to embrace a more holistic worldview when we realize that our being is not separate from the rest of life.  Find a balance between lending a helping hand to facilitate a deeper release for both parties and developing trust and intuition in taking care of one another\, as we merge our ways through 2 hours of partnering positions and finish up with an extended savasana. \nDay one will concentrate on a sequence of postures designed to loosen as well as strengthen participants\, preparing them for participation in a more curious and creative exploration on day two\, finishing up with  a series of  more challenging partner balances. \nNo partner is necessary. Wear comfortable clothing and enjoy relaxing into a mutually supported experience that will send you home smiling.

For Dirty Heads\, evolution beyond their reggae-rock roots has developed over time and is manifested on their new album “Sound of Change.” Due out summer 2014 via Five Seven Music\, the album boasts some of the groups’ most diverse and ambitious work to date. “Sound of Change” takes a literal meaning with the production of this album\, as the band links up with Grammy award winning producer Supa Dups (Nina Sky\, Bruno Mars)\, Buddah Shampoo (Ty Dolla $ign)\, Niles (of hip hop duo\, The Cataracs)\, Ward 21 (311\, Major Lazer reggae collaborators) and long-time friend and collaborator\, Rome(Sublime). \nAs a full six-piece unit\, frontmen Watson and Bushnell are joined by keyboardist/vocalist Shawn Hagood\, percussionist Jon Olazabal\, drummer Matt Ochoa and bassist David Foral.
