DESCRIPTION:In recognition of Hawaii Fashion Month\, the Hawaii State Library presents a new exhibit\, “Fit to Print: Fifty Years of Fashion Advice from Hawaii's Magazines.”  Over the years\, magazines in Hawaii have helped illustrate the “now” fashions for the islands\, from showcasing the next season’s silhouette to introducing the latest back-to-school looks.  This exhibit takes a look back at trending fashions from 1950-2000\, as seen in the pages of Hawaii’s popular magazines.  The exhibit opens Wednesday\, November 4\, 2015\, and runs through November 30\, 2015.  The exhibit\, located in the First Floor Reading Room\, is free and open during the library's regular hours.

Most recently\, in 2012\, Daniel’s album On A Gentle Island Breeze was nominated for a GRAMMY in the World Music category. \nA Honolulu native\, Daniel started music lessons at an early age and spent his teenage years orchestrating big band arrangements. At the Grove School of Music in Los Angeles\, he excelled in composition and film scoring. He was the leader and keyboardist of the acclaimed ‘90s contemporary jazz band\, Kilauea. Daniel performs original songs in English and Hawaiian that feature his versatility on ‘ukulele\, slack key guitar\, and piano. As an independent record company owner\, he pursues excellence in composition\, performance\, audio engineering\, and production.
