This community-driven\, community-oriented day of service recognizes that every single person has the power to make a positive contribution\, and MMN strongly believes community engagement is necessary to preserve our environment and enhance the health and vitality of our community.  \n“[Make A Difference Day] is a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors” states the MakeADifferenceDay.com website. “The stories told around Make A Difference Day show that anyone – regardless of age\, location or resources – can accomplish amazing things when they take on the problems they see in their community.” \nIn the spirit of neighbors helping neighbors and improving our quality of life\, Mālama Maui Nui staff will be assisting fellow organization The Kaho'olawe Island Reserve Commission – KIRC in the important work they do for the sacred neighbor island.
